The BE RIGHT board game will be an informal learning tool for professional use that will make possible that persons with mental illness learn their Human Rights in accessible, easy and fun way.
BE RIGHT project partners believe that the extreme vulnerability of persons suffering from mental illness against violations of their Human Rights can be stopped only if they themselves know their rights and are aware of which treatment received is correct and which is not only incorrect but also reportable. Additionally they have to know which steps should be taken to report violation of rights and where to seek help.
In order to learn their human rights, given the specific conditions of persons with mental illness- whose concentration and learning ability is often limited due to the illness symptoms and/or as side effects of the medication- there is a need of a learning tool that will be easy to understand and handle. That is why BE RIGHT project partnership will design a tailor made, accessible board game for professional use at workshops and trainings with persons with mental illness. This tool will help mental health professionals to provide their patients and clients with mental illness with empowering knowledge about their human rights as patients and service users. The board game, in addition to its valuable educational contents, will have an attractive and user-friendly design.
The board game is currently under development. Once finalized, all the materials necessary to assemble and play the game, together with a comprehensive user’s guide, will be accessible for downloading and printing under this section of the website
